Having just witnessed the historic Space X Falcon Heavy Rocket launch at Kennedy Space Center from the shores of Titusville, we decided to avoid traffic and try a local restaurant. Pistilli’s Bistro & Pizzeria (304 S. Washington Ave, Titusville, FL 32796) was only two blocks from our car, was casual enough for our beach attire and the staff was very friendly. Though they were busy, they were attentive.

The table tent stated that everything is made to order, and that they are not a fast food restaurant. It stated that pizza, strombolis and calzones require additional time, so hunger dictated that we opt for Big Mike’s Italian Sub, served hot, and a gyro sandwich with a greek salad. The sub is about 14 inches and overflows with exceptional meat and toppings, delivered by Big Mike himself. The bread is soft and hot on the inside, and crusty on the outside, like it was cooked in a pizza oven. It was so good, that we had to place a takeout order, for a second sub to take home so that family would not be deprived. We then rationed it out over the next two days.

It is with great conviction that we award the NY See you Later Best of Italian Subs honor to Big Mike of Pistilli’s Bistro & Pizzeria for creating an unforgettable and delectable sub. We will definitely “see you later!”

Hi, we’re Dan and Emille. We met at church in NYC in 2010 and in 2011 we were married in Central Park on the bow bridge. In the last 6 years of marriage we stopped paying NYC rent, and bought a place on the edge of Hoboken, NJ, with spectacular views of the NYC skyline, which has been really fulfilling for photography enthusiasts. We have been talking about having kids for the last 6 years, but the New York lifestyle would make it difficult as our families are in Florida and Brazil. So we sold our place and furniture, left some great jobs, and friends and decided to have travel the world before we have kids. We’re cultured, but not fancy. We've been to 21 countries, and would love to visit all of them. We try to experience things like the locals as much as possible.
