Kokopelli Hostel

If you’re looking for the party in Paracas, Peru, look no further than Kokopelli Hostel! We had a private room overlooking the pool and a private bathroom. Each morning we were treated to the best breakfasts we’ve had at a hostel, including eggs (enough for everyone), coffee, tea, juice, three different choices of bread, jam and optional yogurt with granola.

After breakfast everyone heads to the pool or excursions, which can be booked through the on-site travel company, Grupo Paracas. We booked an epic, Mad Max-style buggy tour of the Paracas National Reserve with them, and had a blast!

Afterwards, we made new friends at the full bar with sports channels, where we were able to watch the NBA Playoffs. They have three happy hours daily, foosball, ping pong and drinking tournaments, and beach access to postcard-worthy sunsets. The kitchen has one of the better menus in town, and you can enjoy the music while swinging from a hammock. They even have a small gym area with barbells, dumbells, and a pull-up bar, or you can try paddle boarding for a workout on the water. If you visit Paracas, Peru, visit Kokopelli Hostel!

Hi, we’re Dan and Emille. We met at church in NYC in 2010 and in 2011 we were married in Central Park on the bow bridge. In the last 6 years of marriage we stopped paying NYC rent, and bought a place on the edge of Hoboken, NJ, with spectacular views of the NYC skyline, which has been really fulfilling for photography enthusiasts. We have been talking about having kids for the last 6 years, but the New York lifestyle would make it difficult as our families are in Florida and Brazil. So we sold our place and furniture, left some great jobs, and friends and decided to have travel the world before we have kids. We’re cultured, but not fancy. We've been to 21 countries, and would love to visit all of them. We try to experience things like the locals as much as possible.
