Searching for an authentic crepe in Peru can be a challenge. Fortunately, in Arequipa, Crepisimo offers savory, sweet, salty, vegetarian and vegan crepes, to name a few. Their welcoming staff is happy to offer suggestions, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by delicious options.
We sampled a blue cheese and banana crepe as well as an alpaca and blue cheese offering, based upon recommendations by our server, Gio, and we’re very glad that we did. The combination of flavors from the sauces and ingredients prepared by chef Jorge and crepero Juan in each dish was phenomenal.
The search for truly excellent coffee can be equally challenging as finding an authentic crepe. Luckily, true baristas Julia and Juan concoct caffeinated beverages as delicious to the eyes as they are to the palate. Javier, one of the partners, and Stella, the manager, spread contagious enthusiasm to the staff and guests alike.
Tea infusion, sandwiches, bread options (including gluten free), craft beer, wine, cocktails and “Alpandina” products—Peruvian ingredients and techniques from the Alps to the Andes—are all available. They even have lactose free options for many offerings.
Opening early for breakfast and closing late for dinner, Crepisimo ensures that locals and hungry travelers alike are well nourished and properly caffeinated. They have a beautiful mezzanine seating area, and beautiful views from the rooftop for the adventurous guest.
