Our experience with Plongée Grand Cozumel Diving in Cozumel, Mexico, was great from start to finish. We were greeted by Steve, the owner, who is a friendly, passionate diver, and whose staff reflects his enthusiasm. Pilou, our dive master, Gaeton, Lucia, Captain Brian and everyone in the office and on the boat took excellent care of us above and below water. They treated us like family, and it was greatly appreciated.

To streamline the process on the following morning, the day before the dive, Gaeton outfitted us with all of the requisite diving gear that would be needed. Pilou is an excellent dive master. He did a superb job explaining the pre-dive protocol and offered technique and breathing tips between dives to further our diver development.

The lunch was yummy as well—guacamole, chips, salsa, tuna sandwiches and watermelon were devoured by hungry divers. Thirsts were quenched by Gatorade and water. They even circulated watermelon and chocolate chip cookies after the second dive, so that we didn’t return to land with empty stomachs.

We dove the beautiful Palancar Gardens Reef in the morning and were treated to our first drift dive and our first shark sighting—a nurse shark—at Paso del Cedral in the afternoon.
